The Double Eye Needle has two eyes and is designed for sewing with 2 upper threads (needle threads). It can therefore be used to create decorative effects when quilting and when using decorative stitches. When using top threads of the same colour, the seam is thicker and therefore attracts more attention, creating an effect similar to when using a thicker thread. You can create unique highlights with the Double Eye Needle when using sewing threads in different colours or using multi-coloured threads: Because there are two eyes, the sequence of the threads is always fixed unlike when using two threads in one eye. This is particularly attractive when using decorative stitches.

Insert the Double Eye Needle into the needle bar as far as it will go, just as you would with any other needle. Thread the two top threads through all guide elements according to your machine's operating instructions. Use all the separation options above the needle. Then pass one of the threads through the upper eye and the other through the lower eye. Please note that the automatic needle threader does not work with the Double Eye Needle. The bottom thread spool is inserted as normal, just like with other needles.

First try out the desired decorative stitches on some leftover fabric using the smallest width and then gradually increase the stitch width. When using the Double Eye Needle, the effective stitch width is limited on many sewing machines. It depends on the features on the sewing machine in question. If the selected stitch width is too large, the thread is no longer held properly in the upper eye and skipped stitches may occur. In this case, select a smaller stitch width. Be brave and start experimenting: The possibilities are endless and you can achieve some really interesting results!

Suitable fabrics/materials

• Embroidery threads
• Multi-coloured threads
• Can be used for many fabrics

Tips
• Fit all household sewing machine brands.
• Use different thread colours to create special embroidery works
• Create special effects using multi-colour threads
• Apply a thicker seam by using threads of the same colour
• Skipped stitches caused when the stitch width is too large can also be transformed into something positive: Use the Double Eye Needle to tack. To do this, use just one upper thread, which you thread into the upper needle eye. Set up a single zigzag stitch with the maximum stitch width and stitch length. Sew without locking the seam. This approach leaves out the stitches on one side; a stitch is then only formed upon penetration on the other side, thus creating a straight stitch seam with extra-long stitches that are easy to break apart.
