Quilt Saturday 2025 Dates
Class 1: 11th January
Quilt Saturday
This monthly class is ideal for those new to quilting or those who would like to build on existing skills. Work on your own project at your own pace under the guidance of our expert tutor. If you are new to quilting our tutor will take you through the whole process from choosing your fabric to completing your first project. You may want to start with a small project, maybe a baby quilt, table runner, a cushion, or even a simple sampler quilt, and as your skills progress move onto a larger project to help you build your skills.
If you are already a keen quilter this is an opportunity to learn new skills and techniques or finish that UFO (unfinished object). If you would like a new challenge then you may want to make your next project a sampler quilt, there’s quite a few to choose from with varying skill levels.
What is a sampler Quilt?
A sampler quilt is made up of a series of blocks; each block is different and teaches you new skills. Each month you will work on a variety of different blocks and explore different techniques, including appliqué, complex piecing, curved seams, foundation piecing, etc. There are a variety of quilts to choose from that vary in complexity, so you can choose one to suit you.
Each individual quilt has its own requirements list which you can view by clicking on the links below. During the first session the tutor will discuss your requirements and, if you require it, give help with your fabric choices.
